What are they doing? What do you call this kind of work? 
They are playing with children. 
They are cleaning the beach . 
They are teaching children . 
They are cleaning the road. 
Some volunteer works: 
- helping the blind children 
- helping the handicapped 
- helping the Aids patients 
- helping the poor.............. 
“If you give me a fish, 
 I will eat today 
 If you teach me to fish , 
I will eat my whole life long.” 
Activity 1: Read the saying and explain what it means. 
Explain the saying: 
The other expression: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him a life time” 
If someone gives you something to eat, you will not feel hungry anymore but this won’t last long. If someone gives you an opportunity to work or teaches you how to work, you will earn your own living for a long time. 
Vocabulary: 
- volunteer (n) : Tình nguyện viên 
Ex: These people are doing volunteer work. They are volunteers. 
- volunteer (v): do sth without getting paid for it : tình nguyện 
 - voluntary ( a ): 
- orphanage (n): the home for children whose parents are dead: Trại mồ côi 
- orphan (n) : trẻ mồ côi 
- mow (v) : xén , gặt
